Baltimore Pike

The Baltimore Pike was an important road into Gettysburg and was used by the Union 12th Corps on their march.  The fishhook of the Union defensive line covered the pike with the defensive positions on East Cemetery and Culp’s Hills being to the north of the pike and Power’s Hill just to the south.  The famous gatehouse entrance to the Evergreen Cemetery is from the Baltimore Pike.
