DeTrobriand Avenue

Named for Colonel P Regis De Trobriand commanding the Third Brigade, First Division, Third Corps.  The Brigade was in position covering the Wheatfield running between Devil’s Den and the Stony Hill (the Loop).  The brigade was pushed back and were than supported by troops of the Second, Fifth, and Twelfth Corps.  They were attack by Hood’s Division of Longstreet Corps.  Over 20,000 men fought for the Wheatfield with over 6,000 causalities
