Ziegler’s Grove

The grove is located just north of the Brian Farm on Cemetery Ridge and was an artillery position, with infantry support, during the battle.   Below the summit of Cemetery Hill and west of Taneytown Road, it was attacked on the third day by Pender’s Division as part of Pickett’s Charge.  In 1960 the Cyclorama was built int he grove and many monuments were moved to make room.  The Cyclorama was torn down in 2013 and the grove is being restored.

Many of my photos were taken before the Cyclorama was torn down, but I have used Photoshop to cover the white building whenever possible with near by trees.
